The service I have had from Hermes in the past was such that I will no longer buy an item if the seller states they use Hermes.
Same here. I did try and organise pick-ups from Hermes before as well, but it took them so long to collect that I had to organise different couriers.
I made a mistake earlier in the year and bought the wrong thing from QVC, which had to be returned via Hermes. Took them 3 weeks to finally collect, as they failed to turn up. And even then it was someone on their first day who hadn't been shown how to process a pick-up - took them 40 mins on the phone to resolve it.
I've stopped using them as although the courier who delivers to me is great, I've had them wreck 5 parcels in 3 months, lose 2, and fail to turn up to collect numerous times. The guy who delivers to me is not the one who collects.
The guy who delivers here is a nice bloke but he isn't getting told that something needs collecting when he should. It sounds like there is a big disconnect between the office staff & the drivers & as you say it isn't the same driver throughout the whole delivery.
