Why should you have to pay for recorded delivery postage for something that has gone wrong under warranty, surely it should be free?

If you're claiming under a warranty (rather than under statutory rights) then it's whatever the terms of the warranty say. And if you mean the postage from you to the manufacturer, surely it's up to you which postage method you use?0

Thanks, it's under warranty and I have chosen recorded delivery as it is a watch. Where can I look up the statutory rights?0

If it's a watch, you need Special Delivery.
As for statutory rights, have a look on the top of this forum for the links.
When did you buy the item?0 -
Statutory Rights UK see Consumer Regulations .
Thats against the vendor .
Warranty is a free add on and subject to any terms and conditions they want .
If it is at fault its worth asking for a refund after return . They may well oblige .0 -
Yep £6 I'd rather not pay, this is a money saving website, is it not? It's also the time to have to package it up and take down to the post office, if you really want to pull this apart too!0

Not pay no problem .
Refuse warranty as you refuse to post to them no problem .They are entitled to do just that in law.
( thats the question you asked )
Statutory Rights .
Consumer Rights against the vendor you may well get free postage .But they may reject your claim .
It could take longer as they take the item send it for repair and that does not have to be the manufacturer .0 -
Surely if they were paying, you'd still have to package it up and take it to the Post Office?0
