Ahhh, sorry Robert, didn't think your meant wi-fi, thought you just meant direct Ethernet connection and you'd changed the admin password!

As BBB above says, check the airport status, it might be disabled, you should be able to enable it from the icon in the menu bar, or check the settings in System Preferences > Network settings.
  • Hey,

Thanks for all your replies and advice. I phone Apple as I have the 90 days support. I changed it to a WAP PSK or something apparently Apple doesn't particulary like WEP which is less secure an older form of security.

End result. It works! Except I now have to change my Windows laptops to WAP and not WEP. Arghhhhh

I'll probably be back on here in a min lol. Cheers everyone!
Help me to help you :santa2:
  • strange - Apple do support WEP encryption though??

anyway as long as it all works now...

You need to change your encryption to WPA-PSK. Get yourself a long random passphrase from here, save it to a notepad file so that you can copy and paste it into your router and then your computers that you want to connect when required.

Glad you got it working :)

WPA is the way to go, WEP is very insecure.
