I have a router or routers
my two windows laptops connect to it via a web password. I have just purchased a iMac.
When I was resetting the password (so there was no password) I tested all the computers to make sure they connected ok, no problem.
I have since added a password and only the two laptops will connect. The iMac won't. I remember something about connecting the two laptops to the router and messing around with the ip addresses.
How can I get my iMac accepted ?
Thank you!!

The router should hold your username and password for your internet connection, unless you specifically get it to connect each time and ask for a username and password.
Therefore all you need to enter into the Macs network config is the gateway address of the router and it'll connect.
In System Preferences > Network you can set your IP address manually if you like, as long as it doesn't conflict with anything else on your local network and it's in the same range (e.g. if you PCs are 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2 set your Mac to 10.0.0.3, with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0)
In the Router box, put the IP address of your router.
Also enter the DNS servers from your ISP, if they have more than one, put a return between them.
If you don't know the address of your router (and your IP range), open a Command window in Windows and type IPCONFIG, the router address is the one listed as Default Gateway.
And that's it
I've PCs and Macs happily working on my router with no problems.0 -

the mac will need to know the password, to get onto the network via the router.
you need to input/tell the mac what the PW is.
im not too sure how you change the PW config on the mac though, sorry.
i assume its a wireless router?Get some gorm.0 -

Are the black bars of the airport icon on the top menu bar of the Finder showing?
If they are grayed out it is not connecting
If they are showing you may need to reset the DHCP licence.
go into safari, type 192.168.0.1
enter the admin and password for the router and find where it says DHCP release and click it. Then click DHCP renew.
give it a few seconds and then it should work.

also what password have you set it too?
There are several flavours. WEP, WEP Hexadecimal etc. Try them all out (they should be in the drop down menu when you have to enter the password)
