haggling with BT and Sky - my success story by Safta
Been with sky for 14 years and moved house Jan 2018. I got a good deal with sky at the beginning, had sky Q (1tb box) and entertainment package for £26 pm including multiscreen (which i didnt really need) as I am on my own and just the 1 tv downstairs but it was the deal at that time.
The price went up to £28.95 recently then when my 18 months subscription fiinished this month my bill was £35 which was a shock to me as they didnt tell me about. it.
My broadband has been with BT for a long time and they are excellent. So really I was paying about £60 a month for both and then realised that I could try to see is Sky can offer me a good deal for bb and tv which they did. Problem was everytime I phoned Sky I kept being told different amounts by different people (each time decreasing which was good).
BT at first offered me free broadband for 18 months only if I pay upfront in Jan as I have been doing for line rental. I refused stupidly then realised that I made a big mistake switching to sky for both and I called BT again and got £8 per month for their cheapest broadband which is fibre and excellent. So I haggled with Sky and I will be paying £9.95 per month for SKy Q and entertainment package so altogether my bill per month will be £36 for everything. BTW BT normally charge £52 for their cheapest package which is madness! BT customer service is excellent and always has been. SKY Customer service is rubbish.
Awaiting eagerly to hear your experiences with both.
