Has anyone answered the OP's question?

I know some mortgage providers have a 6 month rule, would anyone be able to advise which lenders do not have an issue with this?

Odd that his solicitor will already know the answer as they have dealt with this recently so I would thought they could just ask them.

However as a vendor you will not be able to advise where your buyer must go to get their mortgage agreed so the answer to your question won't really help you.

Good luck, you will need all of it.

Whilst posters may be able to say x or Y bank are not too bothered over the 6 month rule...what's the likelihood of the OP as a vendor then getting his potential purchaser to only use that bank for their mortgage...

Its something that whilst its nice to know which financial institution may be prepared to lend on such a property its not for the vendor to persuade the purchaser one way or the other on how they finance the purchase....it shouldn't be the OP's decision or even a point of discussion.

Although OP...that's now 3 different posters who have given you the same answer to your original question over the mortgage situation...again I'm sorry it might not be what you actually would prefer to hear.

...and certainly no meant as a mob handed mentality type comment pinkteapot..infact it really isn't that often that the advice given on any thread is so conclusive, decisive and of the same vein..usually is's not so unanimous as clearly the thoughts are on this particular thread.

  • I dont know if it's just me but when life deals me a hand I don't like (such as MIL issues) I would go full blown dramatic.
I moved jobs and didn't like the new job... next thing I'm sat planning a round the world trip.
I left it a few days and my logical brain comes back into play.
So much so, that my friends & family know to go by the 'She'll be ok in a few days, let her be dramatic first'.
I understand, sometimes it feels like a stressful situation would be better behind you, so selling would sort this, but I think it'll be more hassle and stress for longer than if you sat down and tried to work out an alternative.
Maybe let yourself feel rubbish for a bit, then see if you feel the same?
If not, sounds like it's happened before to others so I'm sure you'll manage to sell :) agree with others, maybe say a different reason though. The lady I bought my flat from moved 17 months after buying it because she was scared of heights!

I too felt sorry for OP and thought some of the responses were uncalled for.

Having time on my hands I've just had a quick look at some of his other threads. For some reason:cool: he has this morning, deleted the opening posts to several of his threads. One was started as long ago as September 2016.

    Very strange behaviour.

I deleted the other threads as it has no bearing on this post although people were quick to jump to this. I didn’t buy the other houses I asked about in those threads and circumstances changes from 2016 I thought it would be best not to give anyone more things to beat me up with.

We definitely are not taking a lodger in, our thoughts are still to sell. The house will sell my worry is the mortgage part, by asking the opening question it would help if any potential buyers asked me about mortgage companies then I could do my best to help.

This is a genuine case, I’m not going to explain myself any further. Upon looking at similar threads buying and selling within 6 months on a mortgage can be done I just wanted to inform myself better to give the best possible chance on a sale going through.

People should probably stop entertaining this thread; it's blatantly a troll. Nobody would be mental enough to take the OP's imagined course of action.

So it's either a troll, or the OP has discovered a portal to Hell in the cellar.

Even if you find that out, are you really going to turnaround to a potential buyer and say 'you have to use 'xxx' lender because no other bank will lend you the money to buy it, the rate is what it is, doesnt matter if you can get mortgage cheaper or not.'?

But why would a potential buyer be asking you, the vendor, on which lender to go with for their mortgage? It just wouldn't happen!

    Most buyers would either:

    a) Already have a mortgage in principle in place with a lender and just need to put in the full application
    b) If not the above, would use a broker to find them the best deal

I can't see any scenario where the buyer would ever ask you for your opinion on it.
