Hi everyone,

I've read the newbies thread, and have copied and pasted the blue letter into my appeal. I have included my name and postal address as advised, however they are asking for my email address as well. Should I give this to them, or is it something I should avoid doing? My gut tells me not to as a) it's my personal email, and b) this could slow their notice to keeper down, but I'm not sure if legally I'm required to?

Why not create a new email address specifically for this 'project'?

    Try Gmail.

Thank you - I think I may do that - don't want them harassing by email as well as post if I can help it.

They wont. There really is no need to use a separate email address.

It appears that APCOA will be responding to my appeal via email according to the system generated email I've just received. Does that mean that the notice to keeper will come via email too?

No, the NTK comes by post. Is this only a windscreen PCN thus far?

    What alleged contravention?

I agree with Brown Trout, no need to hide your real email from APCOA. They are tame and we have 100% POPLA win rate v them, dead easy, as their NTKs are non-POFA in wording, so a keeper appellant wins hands down.

A good one for target practice for you, if this is your first fake PCN scam!

Yes a windscreen PCN for failure to display a valid ticket. This was a railway carpark and the ticket machines were covered in signs that said the machines were out of order and we had to pay by phone. We paid by phone, but the text messages came through with question marks on them. The driver stupidly didn't check this properly.

    None of it matters.

Use the template 1st appeal, then copy any other APCOA railway POPLA appeal.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

I've just found that I've had an email to say that my appeal has been unsuccessful complete with a POPLA code. I've yet to receive a NTK - does this mean that I should send the POPLA appeal now, or wait for one to arrive? 56 days from the day after the alleged contravention would be 22nd July.
