Argos reducing price annoyance!

Ever purchased from Argos only to find the price is lowered about a week later, after getting burned like this before, i decided to make a different purchase through Argos on Ebay hoping to get better protection but after the price of my item was £150 it was reduced to £100 3 days later.

Many stores will refund the difference apart from Argos and despite the item being still sealed in it's box they have refused to refund as it is not deemed faulty.

I understand i'm being crafty wanting the cheaper price but surely that's what this site is all about, do i have any rights here as Ebay are blaming Argos and Argos are blaming Ebay.

The item was ordered through Ebay, from Argos as an Ebay seller using Ebay/Argos buy online click and collect in store.

Edited because I missed the paying online bit. Can you simply exercise your right to cancel the whole order within the 14 days?

If the price had gone up after you purchased it, how would you have forced extra payment onto them, assuming they wouldn't let you return it and repurchase it in those circumstances?

Which gives them the option of refunding the customer OR offering an exchange. I can't see any detail to say so but at a store I worked at (many years ago), any discretionary returns were refunded at the price the customer paid or the lower price if the item had since been reduced.. Would Argos only refund OP the new price under the 30 day policy?

Anyway, I think that's academic because I believe OP can cancel the order given that it was an online purchase less than 14 days ago.

I'm sure you wouldn't be willing to pay more if the price increases a week after you bought something. I bought some coffee last week - it's half price this week.

    Rights? Good grief!

As already said, you can invoke your absolute right to return any online purchases (subject to very specific exclusions which are highly unlikely to apply to purchases from Argos) provided you are within the legal timescales (which you are). If the goods are unopened/as delivered then Argos cannot reduce the amount of refund.

You may have to pay to return the goods - that depends on their T&Cs and what you received (in writing - email is OK, a link to web T&Cs in an email is not) before you became bound to the contract.

Yes it was ordered off Ebay but Argos was the actual seller, Ebay are telling me to exercise Argos 30 refund but Argos are saying it does not apply if not faulty but i thought Ebay would have some power on this.

That is what i thought, i only had type of issue once before but it was John Lewis and they gave me a partial refund as soon as i told them which i thought was great, Argos must not do this or got rid of it.

I have changed my mind and want to return the item, what do i do?
Unwanted items can be returned in an unused condition and within 30 days of delivery. It's best to use the Return Item link in your eBay Purchase History to request a return and we'll respond as quickly as possible.

have you used the return item link?

is it still available at the reduced price?...could become sold out.

I did follow that link and a message comes up, stating "take item back to local Argos store" so i told Ebay and they are supposedly investigating and will contact me by email within 24 hours so don't know what the outcome will be.
