    Hello,

accordin to Gaier Software - Restore Microsoft Money Online Quotes with MSMoneyQuotes

the problem is with Microsoft, who are apparently working on it, as their own applications aren't working. All about time now.
Myself, I've got various spreadsheets which retrieve prices from Yahoo, then use MSMoneyQuotes to upload to Money, so it's not been an issue.

    Regards,

And for me... after I spent some time yesterday getting the FT Watchlist import thing up and running - and recording my first ever Excel macro to re-format the quote dates. Oh well - I learnt some new stuff. Actually, setting up a Watchlist is quite useful, and OEIC prices come through so much more quickly than on MSN.
I've never had to re-format quote dates, but I've used macros to correct stock codes, GBX/GBP swaps and to save the CSV file with the name required for my MSMoneyQuotes shortcut to work.

For me, the default CSV file has 'Apr 13, 2023' and MSMoneyQuotes wants '2023-04-13' with the -t timestamp option. And, for me, Money seems to cope with converting GBX into GBP.

With Gaier MSMoneyQuotes I'm having problems with some prices again, VEVE and VIMD haven't updated since 25th May,  anybody else seeing the same ?
Secondly has anybody used msmquote to update their MS Money prices, is it any good ?
  • Finding the same with ETFs. I emailed the developer on 31st May and haven't heard back.

I've got one ETF, and that hasn't updated either. I haven't heard of 'msmquote'. I now use both MSN Money and the FT as data sources for MSMoneyQuotes.

I expect the problem is with MSN Money rather than the MSMoneyQuotes program.

Strangely it's only ETF prices and nothing else, fund and share prices are all working fine. The ETF prices are still updating on MSNs money site. Possibly he needs to fix something calling the prices in the his app, or raise a ticket with Microsoft if they changed something or removed functionality.

The dev is usually quite quick to email back and/or post an update on his site and not seen anything so far, has been about 3 weeks now.

It is likely that the problem is due to a fault with the MsMoney website interface.  These interruptions happen every so often but all so far have eventually been fixed at the Microsoft end.
  • Update on site, sounds tricky:

"6/25/2023: I have found out that Microsoft has decommissioned the quote services that power MSMoneyQuotes and the Excel Add-In. They are currently on life support and may completely stop working any day. While some quotes continue to work, many people have noticed things like ETFs are no longer working. They have switched their MSN Money Windows 10/11 app to a new quotes service which uses a totally different format, so it no longer uses the quote services my tools are using. While I'm not a Microsoft employee, I've heard that this area of the company is receiving little attention and there is no team currently truly owning and support the previous quote services. I will begin investigation into if its possible to use the new quote services. But as I said, they use a totally different format. They're no longer using the "Financial Instrument" identifiers that my tools currently use. This will mean a ton of work for me to switch over to the new services. And if I am successful at switching over to the new quote services, it would also mean customers may have some work to do to transition to the new format. Sorry I’m unable to personally respond to the hundreds of emails I’ve received."
