Resuable plastic bags for life

Options
Hi there, i need at little help. last week i did my shopping and brought 2 resuable bags, it was pouring down so the bags got wet. when i got home i put the bags on a door handle as we have always done to dry. the next day i went to move then a one was stuck to the door, which in turn left a imprint of the bag on the door. i contacted the seller ( B&M Stores ) who siad straight away that the dye can come off if the bags are wet. this is there reply

Thank you for your email regarding your bag for life.

I am sorry to see some of the dye has come off the bag and onto your door.

However as this item was wet when hung on the door the dye can be transferred.

Therefore I am sorry but we would not be able to take liability for this matter.

On behalf of B&M please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards

Liz

B&M Customer Services

Not happy with there reply i e-mailed them again, this is the e-mail

Many thanks for your reply, but I am not happy with your reply. Where does it say on the carrier bag that the dye can be transferred to items when wet , nowhere. Are instructions given when purchasing a 10p carrier that the dye can be transferred when wet, no they are not. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 makes it an implied term of the contract I have with B&M Stores that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
In this case where no warnings or instructions on the bag that dye can be transferred when wet, and B&M Stores sell this product ( 10p carrier ) knowing that wet weather ( Rain ) will cause the dye to transfer from the carrier bag and in my case to the door. I would therefore like B&M Stores to reconsider your reply, and a reply within 14 days of today’s date ( 18-06-2019 ).

and there reply to this was

Thank you for your reply.

I am sorry to hear you are not happy with my reply.

This matter has been referred to the management team who have confirmed that the bag does not need to state that the dye may be transferred when wet.

As the item is not faulty we are not liable for the dye transfer.

However as a gesture of good will I would be happy to send you £10 B&M vouchers, this would help towards the cost of the paint to re-paint the door.

If you would like to accept this offer please forward your address and I will arrange this for you.

Kind Regards

I would take the £10 voucher and run. What are you expecting? I would say they're fit for the purpose of being used as carrier bags, they've never implied the bags are for hanging off door handles.

CR does not cover user damage .
£10 is a more than reasonable offer .

Purpose is to carry stuff its not sold as weather or waterproof .

So your next step is to take them to court .

God, there have been some ridiculous posts on here recently. This one might even top the lot. I do wonder how some people get through life if whenever there's the slightest mishap, they're after a scapegoat and someone to sue.

Take the £10 and be grateful. You're lucky to have got it.

I'll give you a nudge if you like.

If you don't want the £10 in vouchers I'll have them.

I really do despair and my mind is totally boggling at the petty things some people complain about.

Take the £10 and buy a product suitable for cleaning the damn door!

At least the OP has been quoted a couple of times, so even if the OP does a flounce then the magic is not lost. :D
