denied compensation, advice please

Options
I was recently returning from New York when my flight was cancelled. Some info for context.

My BA flight left the stand and was being tugged back when it hit an Alaskan Airlines plane. My understanding of events thereafter are taken from announcements on the plane. We carried on the taxi way for a while until the plane stopped, we thought because of congestion. We were then told that the plane had bumped another plane and that we had to return to the stand so that damage could be assessed. We were on the plane for 4 hours and were then let back into the terminal. The time for which we were delayed is not in question.

BA has denied compensation saying that this occurred due to aircraft damage which were circumstances outside of their control.

When i look at the reasons on the CAA website for non payment, this is not listed. Any ideas as to next actions? TIA

    Welcome.
Good etiquette is to post on the BA forum rather than post your own personal thread, so please repost there.
But you probably are due compensation. It may depend on the cause of the collision.

    Many thanks.

Apologies, I've been around this place long enough to know the form. I should know as something of a blind bat not to post from my phone. Will repost in BA forum.
