You have to feel sorry for Birmingham City. Apparently thieves broke into their trophy room a few days ago.

Police are looking for two men last seen carrying a blue carpet.

    Maybe.

Personally I feel my season ticket is pretty good value. For me and my two kids to watch Premier League football it costs me about £450 a year. I don't buy much merchandise from the club, and if I do, I do so during the sale (purchased two shirts for my kids a couple of months back for £15 each in the sale). My own shirt is a vintage 1970's Frank Worthington special!

I pay for Sky Sports too, because I enjoy watching it. But this is obviously only when I'm not out rampaging shirtless and sunburnt around European capitals smashing things up.

Yes, that's good value for a season ticket. It's certainly possible to follow (some) Premier League teams reasonably economically. I've never complained about the wages some players get because quite frankly, if there are billions of pounds sloshing around from TV deals, who else is more deserving of a big share of it than the players? The problem is not that they earn so much, it's the amount of money in the game.

At the top level, you're not really following a club. You're a brand ambassador, a walking poster site, a consumer and a cash-generator for a multinational corporation. You may as well be "supporting" Amazon, Google or Lloyds Bank, it's just that someone's chucked a ball into play. As long as you accept that's the case and enjoy the spectacle, all's well. It's when you get fans on the phone-ins moaning about the how money's ruining the game that you have to ask yourself why they're not switching to lower tier football which is relatively unspoilt.

I heard that HMRC were after them for false silver polish claims as well.

When I was a young teenager I was madly in love with a football player at my local team (No im not naming them, save my embarrassment)

Couldnt afford to go to every game, and my dad wasnt a football fan so didnt go with him. I swear down every match I managed to get tickets too he was benched  no refund for me!

Eventually I got myself a little job in the kiosk where I could peer over the barriers and avoid the stewards, and he promptly got a transfer. :rotfl:

This thread is clearly a wind up. I mean who on earth would believe a Birmingham City fan could string a sentence together let alone a whole paragraph?

I hear they've launched a club bra. It has no support and no cups.

Not sure how BCFC handle renewals but the T&C's would have been included with your ST cards when they were sent out. I presume standard T&C's will cover stuff like not selling or transferring the ticket to anyone else etc and cancellation policy - which is usually for medical reasons only.

Renewals at my club, Leicester, are automatic. You do nothing and they carry on taking the payments from the bank. Price hasn't changed in 6 years but they would write and advise if there was an increase.

Interestingly, Leicester don't use a finance partner. Anyone over the age of 16 can purchase a season ticket and pay monthly direct debit with no interest or charges or even a credit check. Because you pay monthly from June, by the time the season rolls around you are already "ahead" on your payments. If you stop paying then they just block the card so you can't get in. Compared to some clubs, it's a pretty good system.

Tigers fan in peace here- same with our season tickets, the monthly Direct Debits are all handled in house with no interest or charges. My credit rating isn’t good (no fault of my own) but I was able to purchase a ticket for next season and just pay monthly. I had issues in the past where I had to cancel my ticket so I just stopped the DD, explained why and provided evidence and they were okay about it. It’s interesting that both clubs use the same system.

As for OP, in the words of John McEnroe- ‘you cannot be serious!’

If they want to see their beloved manager that much just buy a Derby County season ticket. They will soon be seeing him.

Yes it works well. Many years ago I think Leicester used Beneficial Bank or someone which meant a credit search, loan agreement and interest, so the new system is pleasantly user friendly and means even a 14 year old can watch the Foxes (or Tigers) without taking a credit hit.

We've not had an increase in several years and have had some thrills and spills in the last few years so no complaints from me!
