Been in pretty much the same boat with a re-linked chain (several times) and sad to say that after months (and months, and months...) it all fell apart as the vendors decided to stay put.

No point in saying you're walking as you've got nowhere else to buy. Keep looking, and maybe let the EA know that you can't hang on indefinitely so will be checking out the market. They may then say 'your offer's on the table then, but we'll remarket in the hope of getting a chain free buyer in the meantime'.

It can be a long painful process :(

Thank you for reply. It is really a horrible painful road, ok so not third world stuff but in the scheme of house buying and selling its a painful road so far.

I suppose the only thing is this particular person is definately moving on as she is divorced and so we know thats happening... just might have to double up on patience.

For me I wouldnt mind the waiting as much if i was in a happy job and hadnt the plans I have that once we move im setting up my own business. I cant take that plunge until we have the keys in case something goes wrong again,, so thats my main reason for the impatience really.
