Rather than bickering and arguing with people on here (who know what they're talking about) why not contact the lender and ask them and then take it up with them if you still believe it to be wrong?0

https://www.marbles.com/guides/how-do-credit-cards-work/ :Understanding how credit cards work
When you use your credit card, you’re borrowing money. What you spend on the card is recorded on your balance and you receive a bill each month from the card issuer. This spend now, pay later arrangement can give you a grace period, often up to 56 days, of interest-free borrowing if you pay back the balance in full each month.

If you don't pay the balance in full, I think they charge interest on each purchase from the day of the transaction.
Are you planning to continue using the card? Personally I would do a manual payment in full, risking that the direct debit would still pay the minimum putting the account in credit. Then I'd change the direct debit to take full payment.Debt Free: 01/01/2020

UPdate:
Payment done on Tuesday 18 June 2019. Two days before due date. next day (19 June) that payment was showing on marbles account. Yesterday, I noticed on M&s bank online banking that the direct debit for £11.28 was debited. Marbles account takes about 24 hour to update, so when I checked account today balance is showing as £0.00.
When paying the £1116.29 on Tuesday I had some problems. I used tesco debit card to try and pay, and the marbles site kept giving me erorr message 'System error. Please try again later'. Tried nationwide debit card (which I've used before to pay balance of marbles credit card), and the same message was coming up.
Called support, and gave the agent tesco bank debit card details, she said it was not successful, and to ring the card company, she was about to hang up when I suggested trying another debit card. She said okay and we tried the nationwide. It went through.
Later I called tesco bank and they said there is no record of card being declined by them. Definitely seems like a fault on the marbles side.
Could even be deliberate. When I come to think how quickly the support agent wanted me to 'contact issuing bank of card' after 1st attempt (without suggesting to try another card). I remember she even said 'could be because it's a large amount'.
Anyway, best to go down Direct Debit for full payment route if finances allow, as soon as 0% promo ends. That way we don't spend an hour faffing around with entering long card numbers online, then reading them out. I think it's more interesting to watch paint dry.0 -
Just seen the June statement. It has the following:Payment requested
due by 19th July 2019 - £0.00
envisaged) there is no interest after all.0 -

The previous posters clearly stated that if you pay in full by the due date you won't pay interest and if you don't then you will.
As you paid in full by the due date, it's no surprise to anyone that you won't incur interest and this is entirely consistent with what's been posted above, so it looks like you may be arguing with yourself again....0 -
I changed the Direct Debit (DD) to take full payment. Did this last month and received letter from Marbles saying:Direct Debit Type: full balance
So my next statement on 24 August should say the same.
I had a balance of £0.00 in July, so in effect no statement was produced. But have since done some spending amounting to £1172.66. The 24 August statement should show £1172.66 as the balance.
If I pay £1000.00 by debit card 3 working days before the next payment due date, would the DD payment be automatically adjusted to take only £172.66?
Anyone have any experience with this scenario? THe letter I received does say:If you make an additional payment 3 or more working days before your
payment due date your Direct Debit amount will reduce by the amount of the
payment.0 -
It should do yes.
But why would you want to do that?0
