Barclaycard Platinum Cashback Plus vs Platinum Barclaycard

I applied for the Barclaycard Platinum Cashback Plus to use abroad as suggested on MSE, but they've offered me the standard Platinum Barclaycard only. Does this matter? It says on the letter "you'll still benefit from our non-sterling transaction fee offer". So should I presume it is still a good card to use abroad? Don't want to be caught out by something I hadn't thought of like any additional charges. I want to be able to use it for withdrawals and spending abroad. Many thanks.

There are two versions;
Barclaycard Platinum Cashback Plus
and
Barclaycard Platinum Travel
The travel card doesn't have Travel written on it.
Does yours look like this;
If so, you can read about it here
Though do check if you have different T&C0 -
Thanks for the reply. They haven't sent it to me yet, have just sent me info offering me it instead of the Cashback Plus. They're just calling it the Platinum Barclaycard, no mention of Travel. I don't think it's the same as the Representative APR and Purchase rate are both listed as 29.9%, not 19.9% as shown in the image you posted.0

Just confirm the actual T&C with them. How long the promo period as compared to the one to which I have linked, for instance.0 -
I suspect that linked image may be out of date - the barclaycard copyright indicated at the bottom is 2017.
Also it refers to the promo period lasting until August 2022, whereas more recent variations are to August 2023.
I compared the current images for the Platinum and Platinum Cashback cards, and there appears to be no clear visual differences - well, as far as I can determine, all very confusing !!!0 -

Actually, no. The most recent Barclaycard Platinum Travel card advertisements indicated 2022. Cashback plus 2023.
I know, because I made a post about this recently, whilst the Travel card link was still up and posted both of the links.
I actually have the Travel card.
So whilst they may have taken the link down, they may still offer it to customers applying for the Cashback Plus, on varied terms.0 -
This is the page on the 10th of March this year
Take note:You may be offered a different credit limit, representative APR, purchase rate or promotional Balance Transfer period to any shown here as it depends on your individual circumstances. Subject to status.
So the interest rate does not have to tally with the one shown in the advertisement.
It's still a good card if the OP keeps it in good stead, in clearing the full statement balance each time.0 -

I couldn't see any headline reference to August 2022 or 2023.
The use of "Travel" in the title is confusing, to me at least - and we have the 2023 cashback card0 -

The Travel card was the preceding card to the Cashback Plus card. It is no longer on their website. But if you click on the link in post #7, you will see the page as it was in mid March.0 -
Right, thanks - so the Travel card was reborn as the Cashback Plus sometime after March 2019.
That's what confused me !!!0 -
