My eyesight is good enough, but can struggle at times with certain lighting.

You won't be taking the eyesight test in 'certain lighting'. You will be taking it in daylight by reading a number plate over a distance of 20 meters. As you know what the criterion is you can easily check yourself out before the test.

If you fail the sight test on the day the test will be stopped.

If you fail the test at the roadside, you will be reported for driving with defective (uncorrected) eyesight. If you have any doubts prudence would direct you to an optician for a full eye test and glasses if necessary. Your license would only be revoked if your eyesight cannot be brought up to the minimum standard for driving even with glasses. In this case all of your driving entitlements would be revoked.

Good luck with the test. Motorcycles are a great way to get around.

On the day of your Mod 2 you'll be asked to read a standard number plate well over 20 m's, failing to read that plate will result in you being asked to read another plate at around the same distance. Failing to read that one you'll be moved closer and asked again.
If after failing 3 attempts the examiner will have to measure the distance which will be either 20 or 20.5 m depending on the plate being used.
At this point failing to read the plate will result in a test fail and the test is terminated at this point. The examiner will fill in a D255 which is faxed to DVLA Medical branch about 10-15 minutes later. They will act pretty promptly and revoke any licences held until you have shown that you can meet the standard required, usually this is carried out by a driving examiner in the same way as described above.
The examiner cannot revoke your licence as they don't have the power though they will probably advise you not to.

If you do fail at the Mod 2 then for the sake of yourself and everyone else you should refrain from driving until you have resolved the issue.
