Hi just bought a new TV and tried to connect it to the aerial socket but found that both ends are male. How can I connect the two together?? Any ideas? I know I will need a connector but which one? thanks

Either buy a new cable with female to male coaxial connectors as shown here:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cable-Mountain-Female-Coaxial-Connectors/dp/B073VQLQFZ
Or simply purchase a female to female adapter as in the image here:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cable-Mountain-Plated-Coaxial-Coupler-White/dp/B00INTO344/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3B0GPW92SXSXX&keywords=female+to+female+aerial+connector&qid=1560697723&s=electronics&sprefix=female+to+female+aerial%2Celectronics%2C134&sr=1-4
Personally I would buy a new cable with sufficient length to reach from the socket to the tv. You can buy them from the Poundworld type shops.0 -

The coupler is a good idea, i've found they can fall off though. A bit of tape will do, but a proper male to female fly lead should give a stronger signal.0
