refund for faulty sofa

Recently we ordered and received a sofa from sofology, which was faulty. After a lot of "discussions" engineers visits and a letter to the CEO they came to their senses and offered 3 options to resolve the issue. the option we chose was a full refund. Job done you might think.
However they will only make the refund to the credit card which we used to pay for the goods. The issue here is that we paid for the sofa with our credit card as we believed that in paying in this manner would offer more protection if things went wrong. We then paid off the credit card, so if sofology pay the refund to the credit card we will be over £2000 in credit, again not necessarily an issue, except that the supplier who is going to provide a replacement for the sofa we are sending back wont accept payments by credit card, so we asked that sofology make the refund to our bank account. They have said no, and said it was due to money laundering rules. i asked to talk to the finance department who would effect the refund but apparently they don't speak to customers and that they would not change their mind regardless. so before I go back to the CEO any suggestions.

Take the refund, it has to be to original payment method.

Call up your credit card and ask for the credit to be reimbursed to you.

I had an issue with around-the-world flights and Amex refunded the credit back to me within 48 hours.

On top of the fact that they are correct in offering a refund by the same method as payment do you really think it's a good idea to buy from this other company if they don't accept credit cards? Who will protect you if that purchase goes wrong?

Personally I'd accept the refund to the credit card and go back to looking for an alternative supplier who will accept credit card. Worst case if I couldn't find one I'd choose one who accepts some form of finance (preferably interest free with no admin fees) and use that for the purchase but pay it off ASAP to still get the additional protection.
