With a Claim Issue Date of 11th June, and having done the Acknowledgement of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 15th July 2019 to file your Defence.
That's a whole month away. Loads of time to produce a perfect Defence, but don't leave it to the last minute.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as suggested here:- Print your Defence.
- Sign it and date it.
- Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
- Send that pdf as an email attachment to
- Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
- Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defence received". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
- Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire, they are just trying to keep you under pressure.
- Wait for your DQ from the CCBC, or , and then re-read post #2 of to find out exactly what to do with it.
Thanks Keith - so my understanding is I should be highlighting the poor signage/distance from parked car, as well as the abuse of process case which was thrown out, and that would be the best defence in this situation?0 -

Exactly, nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Which road in Shoreham & outside which shop? I'll have a look.
As Sussex is my area, if you end up with a court claim to defend (there's always a defence) I will be happy to attend court with you, if you want some support from a local, vocal lady, if I'm free.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Wow, it always amazes me the kindness and lengths total strangers are prepared to go to on these forums, thank you Coupon-mad. I may take you up on that. In answer to your question though, It’s Shoreham Port, just by Hove Lagoon, outside the Shutterly Fabulous office. With everything said, and looking at the sign itself, would you agree best angle of defence is poor signage along with abuse of process?0

I'll drive down there next week when in the area.
I fancy a look in that Shutter shop! I'll have to park elsewhere.
If you want to meet me there send me a pm. Others will confirm I'm trustworthy.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Absolutely agree - C-m really is the real deal. Fantastic offer. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

That sign ... what a lot of cr*p from GXS Services.
It may form a contract for £100 but there is no contract for an unknown amount they claim will be added.
This is just typical of the scam set up, the IPC
No doubt they refer to the £60 scam add-on
BWLegal got whooped for abuse of process, now we must make sure the incompetent Gladstones get the picture as well0 -
No parking on double yellow lines, hatched areas, or outside of a marked bay.
If that sign is to be believed they'd also fine people for parking there using a Blue Badge or dropping people off, or loading/unloading, because they do not understand what double yellows really mean.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
