with me as FTBs.
Atlast the long wait was over and our solicitors exchanged today, with completion set for June 25.
Soliciotrs have requested the funds from the lender today and said that the funds will be with them on day before compelrion day i.e June 24.0 -
.....but only if you sell it during the period the market affects it that way.
For Example:
My old house in mid 2007 was worth £375k
By mid 2008 it was only worth £325k
By around 2013 similar houses were fetching £375k again.
Now, those houses are fetching £525k
Obviously, where I used to live, the recovery after the Crash of 2008/9 was quite swift. Some places, like parts of Tyneside, have not recovered yet.
If your fairly standard 3 bed semi with no special tweaks is £350k, you are not buying in a depressed area, like parts of the North East, but neither are you buying in a highly desirable neighbourhood, like where my old place was located.
Got a link? Doubt they will fetch that after Brexit kicks in.0 -

Houses in E4 had an even bigger rise. Mine nearly doubled in 3 years. Check out some sold ones on Zoopla. Really not that uncommon to have made such a large increase so I don't know why you need a link to one. After Brexit is done and dusted, they will prob rise yet again.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -

What they fetch, now or in the future, is of no interest to me.0 -

Lovely neck of the woods.
Drive through it a lot and have flown over it in a glider (not the towny bits ) and walked around at ground level.
OP, stop looking at estate agents windows! No good will come of it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

At last we completed today.
I received a call from EA at around that 10:30 am that keys can be colelcted from their office at 11:00 ( After few ninutes solicitor also rang and informed that we can collect the keys from EA)
Later EA called again that vendors are cleaning the house so they need a bit more of time and can we can collect the keys at 12:30 (I told EA that we are not in a rush and let vendors take whatever time they need as they have spent 20 years in this property)
I went to the EA office during my lunch break at 13:30 and collected the keys.
Me and my spouse went to see the house again and found that vendors have tried their best to clean the property inside out as much as possible.(really appreciate as have read on few threads on the forum that the houses was left in a miserable condition by the vendors on the completion day)
We took the meter readings for the electric and the gas meters (will update the enegy providers in the morning)
It was a painful/ stressful journey, which when started , we were not sure whether and when it will be complete.
I am extremely thankful to all the forum members for bearing with me, answering my silly / stupid / beginners / already asked questions.
Best of luck to all the rest who are awaiting exchange / completion and thanks once again.0 -
