I have won, but not paid for a car on ebay.
I have just notice that the cars MOT history is only listed since March 2018, yet the car was first registered in Dec 2013
Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Perhaps come in from Isle of Man, Ireland etc0

Surely the time to make such enquiries was before placing a bid on the car. You bid for it you bought it, enjoy your new car.0

May have previously had a different (personal) number plate.
Also if you get this car, make sure the engine management light works with the ignition on. It could be possible it was taken out to pass the MOT even though it shouldn’t pass with it removed! If it has I would advise you look up where it was MOT’d and contact DVSA straight away.
This could be your get out if the car is dodgy. You can make an inverted appeal.
Cars cannot/should not be sold unroadworthy.0 -

Check it out on cazana.
I have checked it on Confused, com, it did not highlight anything, but it did state that the VIN/V5 number was still required.
Not been re-registered or anything. Have have sent an email to DVSA about this issue.
No outstanding safety recalls found, I have found more than one car with outstanding recalls.0 -

From stockton on tees area.May have previously had a different (personal) number plate.
I just checked my previous car which was on a personal plate from new, the current registration shows all the MOTs from the 1st to current and the car is a 2005.0 -
Maybe it was a private hire their MOT is different.0

Just checked HM Govt tax disc website. The vehicle is registered as SORN and MOT until April 2020. May want to ask the seller about this. I checked my own vehicle on the MOT website and has all the info going back to the first MOT in 2006, so it's a mystery as to why yours didn't.0

AFAIK any testing requirement for private hire etc. is in addition to, not instead of, the basic MOT regime.
The requirements of a hackney test (cabs equivalent of a MOT) is more stringent but it takes place instead of an MOT. They actually need their testing every 6 months rather than the 12 under an MOT.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
