easter monday

hi all
can't find anything corresponding to bank park and holiday parking periods
my wife parked on a retail car park and because the signs state it is free sunday and outside normal business hours she assumed easter Monday was also free (so did pretty much any one else in the car park) but bank park are trying to clain £60 -£100 for 40 mins .
I refuted stating that she is the keeper etc with normal letter and got standard letter back showing signs etc so sent back that they were in breach of signage as no mention of bank holidays and they actually changed the issue date from 22nd april to 8th may on their paperwork
the latest I have back is offering IAS appeals via www. Theias.org
should I respond ,appeal or ignore

read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread

    ignore the IAS option

the private signs tell you what happens on any day, so if bank holidays are not mentioned then the signage appropriate for that normal day apply

so its likely that the BH assumption was irrelevant and incorrect

Putting QDR solicitors Ltd in the forum's search facility returns 111 posts.

Just putting QDR in the search and it reports over 300 posts.

Putting ZZPS or ZZPS Ltd in the forum's search facility returns over 300 posts for each.

By the way, 300 is the maximum number of posts that the search will return. There may be many many more posts out there.

So the answer is yes, 'these cowboys' have been seen before. :D

Have you read post #4 of the NEWBIES thread? It tells you exactly how to deal with them.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Never ever "assume" anything when parking anywhere it will come back and bite you.
