Extra Energy final bill - how to pay
Options
I'm a bit confused!
Have received email and final bill for my Extra Energy account and the bill says it will be taken by direct debit in 17 days.
The bill seems to be in order so happy to let this roll on (dd still active), but all other correspondence does not mention dd as a way of paying.
Has anyone else just let the dd happen or do I actually have to take action to pay this?

I was an Extra Energy customer & my d.d. was just cancelled . Passed over to Scottish Power by Ofgem , have ongoing issues about over charging. Have left S.P. & now with Tonik .0

How was your direct debit mandate "just cancelled"?
More info needed please.
In the meantime, allow me to extend a warm welcome to you as a brand new user0 -
We joined EE via this site and had we think around £150 credit when they went bust and was transferred to SP who have been a real nightmare and threaten us regularly with demands and phone calls. We have paid twice now what they told us were final bills only to get another one the next day , this has been really upsetting for us as we are elderly and dont wish this harassment They were supposed to return our credit but now they say we are just creditors of EE and will only get it if they ever receive it. Obviously we have closed down the SP account we would never ever have opened an account with them as we have had previous issues with them.0

Thanks folks for your responses so far.
Just to clarify this is the final bill for the money I owe Extra Energy.
When they went into administration, I was transferred to Scottish Power and after a few months of slightly eye watering charges, I used the MSE energy club to switch to another provider, settling my account with SP via the direct debit details they had for me. Apart from a stray meter reading, that all went OK.
It is the mechanism for payment of the Extra Energy bill I'm confused about. Anyone else paid their final bill by dd yet?0 -

Sorry to read about your experiences, but you know how the saying goes...

Yes but we went with EE due to the recommendations of this sites energy club, it wasn't the cheapest but was the one they recommended.
Recommended by MSE? Surely some mistake

After looking at the EE threads on MSE in the past 2 days i decided to look at my account and the page after login was a bit about the administrators and then it told me what i owe them which was £13 odd.
I left Last July with a credit balance and after lots of emails, calls and threats of court action 1 week before they went belly up i got the money back by DD indemnity as the still took the DD's after i left.
I got a call from OVO in March to keep me upto date and that was all i heard.
The money i owe them is spot on and today i paid them by credit card and i hope this is the end now.0 -

As above i paid the balance yesterday and this moring i have checked the account and i now have a zero balance so that should be done with Economy Energy.
I have also taken a screen shot of the web page for my records. The bills webpage has not been updated yet but i am not sure if if ever will be so that's 1 reason i took screenshots.0 -
Thanks boohoo, fingers crossed that's sorted for you.
I think I'm going to wait it out and see if the dd goes out by the end of the month or if I get increasingly desperate messages to PAY NOW OR ELSE.
If it doesn't sort itself out, I'll give them a call........ Will post back here when I find out!0
