Exchange only BT lines, there is hope -

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/258240

This will discuss and prioritise those left behind by exchange only lines that have NO plans for upgrade.

It is not our fault, it is not our doing, we should not be the ones to have to pay for the upgrades.

Exchange only lines do get upgraded by putting a new cabinet in just outside the exchange so it does happen. But obviously this will probably have a high cost compared to the benefits considering these lines are usually very short so your probably getting 20mbps+ on ADSL2+ broadband already.

So it's only fair the prioritise the people who are getting much slower than this and they can upgrade the speeds of many people for far less. So unfortunately your just going to have to wait.

I don't see why people with EO lines should get priority over properties which get much slower speeds?

I understood that it was Broadband UK organisations dealing with EO lines. I had to wait for Connecting Cheshire to get around to mine which was 18 months after the rest of the village had fibre

It's entirely fair that those wanting the upgrade pay for the upgrade.

It does, that is how we are connected.

I hummed and harred a bit over whether to upgrade because we were getting 18-20 Mbps. It was the increase in upload speed that persuaded me.
