Hope everyone has a good weekend. Tbh it's actually been a pretty decent one for me, the last few weeks have seem to have just been a blur sleep work sleep work etc...it was nice to switch of my work phone / laptop this weekend and enjoy some time for myself and family without the worry of work. Yes I have spent money but not anything to drastic and really enjoyed the weekend. Its when I have weekend's relaxing and been out with family/friends it makes me realise I need to find that way to switch off from work. I don't get as much time off as I used to and tend to do some work from home so always feel guilty.
This weekend we took the little one to cinema (managed to get all our tickets for a tenner!! and us Yorkshire folk love a bargain). We did enjoy a st*rbucks and popcorn - we then met my brother and his gf for a lunch. This is where I see the benefits of not been in debt coz I don't need to worry about it. Also had football this weekend -- tonight we will be food and a few drinks.
Its been rough this last few weeks tbh as I have kinda gone over and over what I could be doing to help my dad in his situation as well as trying to figure out our housing situation. We have been put on local council list but that will probably not bring any joy but its there anyway.
The weekly shop has been done and came in under target - managed to get all my food stuff for work lunches and a few treats. Petrol is stil been a challenge as I am using a lot more. I am ready to have a nice four day week
Hope everyone has a great weekDays to Orlando: 516 - ☀️1 -
4 day week is always good. I'm going to one up (one down??) you though as I am having Thursday off, to help OH and I's friend with her campaign to become a local councillor. There's always something to do, and it usually involves walking around which is good for the step countI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long

Back in the game and more determined than ever to own our property.
Wow, can't believe how much I have neglected this diary, I have been keeping up to date with most diaries but just haven't really engaged with my own for a while. It's been a pretty hectic few months both work wise and personally so just been trying to manage that.
Finance wise myself and partner have been working so hard to get some money/savings behind us to aid us with moving (which finding a place is a nightmare). We have managed to put plenty away though and have £2750 in savings so this will help with the bonds/deposit. We haven't really been looking too much at private market until we knew we had the bond/deposit and some extra saved so now we have that we can really start investing in the house hunting. The few we have looked at seem to have so much interest and we never get a look in.
Outgoings have gone up slightly due to the obvious crazy world stuff, but at present are pretty steady and not pushing the limit too much, although aware this will change when our rent increases. This has been helped by getting a little extra bonus at work each much as I am currently managing site and my own job again for last few months which has been awful from my own mental health side of things but we are coming out the other side now thankfully - although we do have another manager leaving this week lol so maybe out of one hot seat into another haha.
On a personal front my own routines have kinda just gone out of the window with focus been pretty much on work but I am intending on getting back into some sort of pattern over the next few weeks. Hopefully once it settles at work a tiny bit and I have booked some annual leave as I really need the break (if been at home packing and sorting a garage counts as a break)
Hope everyone is doing okayDays to Orlando: 516 - ☀️1 -
Good to see you. Unfortunately the rental market is insane and the purchase market isn't much better. Prices do seem to be coming down though (different area of West Yorkshire)1

Great to hear from you mate. Certainly doing well with the finances; no debt / some savings and fantastic to hear you are looking towards the future, working on your career and determined to get your own property. You'll get there.

it’s taken a lot of time and a tiny bit of luck on the way to be where we are now, although even I didn’t believe I would be in the position I am now.Days to Orlando: 516 - ☀️1 -
I'm ok, had a month with the pros trying to help fix my !!!!!! dumb brain out but back home concentrating on business and family now. Still need to get a grip on my reliance on credit though tbh nothing new there.
I think I can speak for all of us here that we believed you'd get into the position you are in now. You'll continue to smash it and I really look forward to the day I read on here you've had an offer accepted on a home for you and your girls.2
