I have a Panasonic Vierra tv model TX-L42ET60B,it’s about 6 years old.
It used to have YouTube installed as a app and I could sync it with my iPad and watch things ,that has disappeared. Now the Netflix app isn’t working properly.I can still watch films but the pictures in the boxes have disappeared and the boxes are just blank. Can any one help please.

Check for firmware updates. If there are none, buy a cheap Roku box or similar and attach it to the TV.0

Yes, it should be in the Settings. Will take a look later. A Roku or similar is just a standalone box that handles all of the Applications of which you write. It will give you access to Netflix, YouTube etc.
Perhaps best to start another thread to ask about recommended standalone boxes for NetFlix etc and you'll get some good recommendations.
That's the problem with Smart TVs. The manufacturers concentrate more on their new products.
So a Smart Box, such as a Roku, allows you to update and upgrade the Smart component of the TV at a relatively low cost. You just connect it to the TV via the HDMI connection and it's uses your WiFi or Ethernet connection..
Can bring you a wealth of new content, as well as allowing you to continue to watch NetFlix, YouTube etc0 -

Id get a Roku box myself.
You mentioned about watching youtube videos on your tv, why not a Chromecast, you cast (think you do it via youtube) and you cast to the Chromecast and away you go.0 -
Here is the simplest example of a Roku box; https://www.roku.com/en-gb/products/roku-express
Others may have better suggestions based on their experience.0 -
Didn't know that there is NetFlix on NOW TV boxes. Now TV boxes are locked down versions of Roku. So you can buy a higher quality NOW TV box for same as the Roku Express; https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/NOW-TV-4631UK-Smart-Box-with-4K-and-Voice-Search/2297908254
But whilst it's a better box, you won't have access to as many channels. But you will have NetFlix, BBC iPlayer, You Tube etc0
