Hi

I don't want to incur the wrath of the regulars for posting something already handled so I will apologise now if there is a link to another thread. Please post it in a reply and I will read it. I did try to find something similar to my issue but couldn't find it. That doesn't mean it isn't in existence it means I failed to find it for which I apologise again.

I used the "one size fits all" template from here and as advised did not post it by Royal Mail. Instead, I used their online appeal form. I noted it made mention of documents not being returned via email but they did reply with a standard script by email, which is not a surprise.

They title their attached reply PDF to my appeal "Your Parking Charge Notice appeal" but make no mention of anything other than

In your first correspondence you have declared that you were not the driver at the time of the parking
event. If you were not the driver, please provide us with the driver’s full name and address within 28
days beginning with the day after this correspondence.

Should we be not notified of the full name and serviceable address for service to the driver, under
schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (‘the Act’) we do have the right, subject to meeting
the requirements of the act, to recover from the registered keeper of the vehicle at the time it was
parked, so much of that amount that remains unpaid.

I assume this is normal practice for them but wanted to know what I should do next. They have ignored the comment about "no email for documents" so I doubt they even read the appeal properly.

TIA

GT

there are hundreds of other posts like yours where the PPC is phishing for the drivers details , which they are allowed to do (its a standard response)

you are allowed to not tell them

    so "DONT TELL EM PIKE"

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Don't let Tito know who was driving. Desperate company.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi all

Thanks for the replies and the advice, very much appreciated. I have no intention of revealing the driver's details. In fact, I am not sure I can remember :rotfl:

I will post an update if, and when I hear back from them.

I followed the advice on here and completed the online appeal form for TPS. As posted, they have basically ignored my appeal

In the post today I have a final demand. To be honest, I am not surprised by this letter, it reinforces my view that they are parasites and just hoping to scare people into paying.

I also don't want to be stupid about it so what should my next action be?

    TIA

Doesn't matter, as the appeal was a farce anyway.

You really only need our advice at court stage - if your attempts to get the retailer/landowner to cancel the scam PCN, fail. That's always the easiest route.

I realised I knew someone high up in the landlord's organisation when I was dealing with another business opportunity. I spoke with him and explained the situation and he said he would apply pressure given the circumstances. The ticket was then cancelled :D

Thanks to everyone who offered their advice, much appreciated!

Which proves our point that a complaint to the landowner us always the best option

Now send a complaint to the BPA outlining how your appeal was ignored and no POPLA code provided. Copy in the DVLA as well.
