This is a difficult one ... you've posted in Consumer Rights but this is a B2B issue you have so I'm not sure how well anyone here will be able to help.

This is an HMRC issue, they are the ones who will refund you. Fed ex just charge you on the value the seller declares on the package. You are talking to the wrong people and they know it.

FedEx collect the money for them and only charge a small fee. Talk to the Customs and Excise about it. Fed EX are not going to refund you for money they have already given to the Tax man.

There is a way to do it if you have the proof you were incorrectly charged.

HMRC only do this for Parcel force and Royal mail and i would at the very least expect a simple response from fedex explaining this even if this wasn't the case . It's by far the worse delivery out of every company i have used . It's fedex who are asking for the money before fedex used there debt collectors .Even on the invoice UK email auto response it says "If your enquiry requires a claim or amendment to be submitted to the local
    > Customs Authorities, we may need to contact you for further information
    > before we can proceed. Please be aware that claims for clearance errors not
    > caused by FedEx may incur an administration fee of £53.00 + VAT.
    >"

Please do not sympathise with this awful company .Yes of course i have full proof i'm a UK registered LTD company and have all invoices. I've even had it confirmed by Fedex live chat support that there was a mistake .They were the ones 2 months ago who told to me to email the invoice email .Countless emails later nothing

Incorrect. FedEx pays the fees up front and claim them back from you, therefore they have paid HMRC already. Which means you need the clearance reassessed by HMRC as they have charged FedEx what they told FedEx was owed based on the shipment content information given to them by the shipper.

It sounds very much like you are going down every channel to seek resolution, instead of choosing one and sticking to it. I have had similar issues with other carriers, its not just FedEx who has these issues (just being fair to all here).

Email uk@fedex.com and ask for this to be referred immediately to the UK-based clearance team - with a clear and concise chain of correspondence timelines to show that this has gone on too long and needs resolving.

The difference is the RM/PF don't release the goods until you've paid the import duty/VAT ... other couriers (like Fedex) pay it for you then claim it back. As it is you owe them the duty they've paid ... you'd need to claim this back from HMRC if duty has been applied incorrectly (by HMRC, not Fedex - Fedex pay what HMRC tell them to pay).

If you're not willing to accept what several people have told you then there's no point continuing this thread.
