OK, at this point I give up and stop following this thread.
Thank you to those folks who offered helpful suggestions. We're all doomed0 -
I don't know if you're going to read this due to your above post but I used to work for a wholesalers that independant convenieince stores bought from.
You need to find out who the wholesaler is that the shops get the Best one products in. If you see the Best one label on other products ask the owner/manager. Then contact them to see if they can give you the nearest shop that sells their products. Once you've established a store that can get you them, go and chat to the owner/manager. You may find they're prepared to stick a case onto their order just for you. Be prepared to have to pay for several tins all at once though, if the shop thinks they won't be able to sell any surplus.0 -
I have located a Best One store not too far from the family home. I will make an exploratory trip & if I return laden with canned delights, I may have to message Si Clist offering my wholly reasonably rated services as intermediary.0

I know I'm a bit late to the thread, but if you know anyone in the army or are near any army surplus stores, they do sticky toffee pudding and ginger pudding in the ration packs. Just stick them in boiling water for a few mins. Last for years too!Rubbish at the grocery challenge!0

My experience of coaxing stores to sell individual bits of ration packs has been patchy - they were slightly on the wedge of ethical anyway, but then I just wanted the Biscuits, fruit & the waterproof matches.
I tended to do better at fairs & shows with a military recruiting stand...0 -
The "farm" shop at the local garden centre had tinned sponge puddings in the other day - I thought of this thread. Maybe another place to consider looking ie garden centres“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Oh I took a look at the Tesco own brand puddings and they can be cooked in a saucepan no bother0

Are these easy to make? I ate them very rarely, but once every few years get a craving for one. It’ll be a real shame if I never get to taste one again.0

To add to the above, I mean from scratch, I know how to “make” the tinned ones...0
