    Hi NeilCr

Thank you for your help. I am still trying to find out who owns the car park. The owner (ie landlord) is not mentioned on the signage. And the restaurants don't know who the landlord is. They deal with the letting agent (Lambert Smith Hamilton), who runs the site for the landlord. I still haven't even got the right person at the letting agent to speak to yet. If/when I do, then I'm going to ask them (LSH) if they'll give me a statement and to generally find out their position on the fine. Remember that I only stayed like five hours, which is within the valid time period for patrons (if they register).

Since the restaurant and Britannia are separate companies, then I'm not sure of the significance of the signage inside the restaurant. But the one thing that I really want to get is any paperwork/sign or anything that says that "patrons get six hours". I don't think that such a sign or paper exists, even now. So I could never have seen it, yet it seems well known (on the restaurant park) that patrons do get six hours. Note: the restaurants have terminals now for patrons to enter their registration numbers, but even they don't state what the benefit is, only that patrons should use them.

In the months after the parking restrictions were implemented, TripAdvisor shows many diners complaining (and paying the £60). Over a year later, the complaints still happen but are now less frequent.

    Thanks

I thought it significant because it seems to show that they were having a lot of problems with complaints about parking so they did something about it

The cut in TA moans about the parking looks helpful to me - as you dined before the change in signage.

Thanks again. I agree that the TA situation looks helpful. I did actually discuss this with the restaurant. In contradiction of what I said previously, the restaurant (who would probably know) said the signs have changed (ie in location and quantity). They believe that the TA moans diminished due to people being more aware about it.
Either way, I think it's relevant to a degree. The TA moans show that people weren't seeing the signs. People (like me) do read TA and they could have been informed about the parking via TA just as easily really.
