BT broadband question

Hi, I'm looking at changing my isp and have been looking at BT. It says they will not put the price up for the rest of the year but is it restricted how much they can raise it for for the remainder of the contract, or are you able to terminate it early and without penalty if the do raise it in the new year? Thanks

No price rise in 2019 .
BUT 2020 will have a different method .You would need to ask Ofcom about built in price rise and free cancellation as its not listed.

We're changing the way we increase our prices. From 11 January 2019, if you sign up to a new contract for a landline (including call charges, features and plans), broadband or mobile, the monthly price will increase every year from March 2020. That increase is based on the Consumer Price Index rate of inflation which is published in January of each year.
