O/S Daily Wednesday 5th June 2019
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Scarlet-ribbons - yes a mail out is what you said - so it generates lots of enquiries/customer contacts.
Hugs to those who want/need one, those who are poorly, and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Overcast, dull and damp underfoot - more rain forecast for today. It was ok yesterday with some sun but then clouded over and sky went very dark around 3.30pm then we had a very heavy shower that then slowed to steady rain for a while, it did then stop during the evening but it's rained again overnight as it's damp.
DH and DS1 now getting ready for work, I'm showered and dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and ok.
Dinner last night was disjointed as DH was on a late finish, so DS1 and myself had sausages, jacket potato with cheese and beans, DH had an egg and bacon sandwich when he got in. Tonight will be fish, chips/jacket potato and beans/veg.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad, although busy, 1 person who had been off sick was back but then someone else came in and went home unwell, and we think will still be off today and the other person is off sick and we don't know how long for - so that presents challenges as we enter the holiday period and people now start having time off. I finished up staying late last night as we didn't have enough staff to close. We'll see how today goes, but I'm then on days' off until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Happy Birthday for yesterday to nanny windows and Happy Birthday to silver-oldie.
I am around, just not feeling much like posting but I'll be back properly soon, I hope.
Meanwhile, hope everyone is ok.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning All
It's been raining steadily since about 6 last night, it's so dark I had to check the clock! I have wet washing hanging about, I'll put in in the TD tonight to finish it off.
The living room is now sparkling! The floors have been mopped, the stove blackened and the slate hearth scrubbed. I was slightly ashamed of the dust behind the TV cabinet, also found some christmas tree needles and a card from one of the DGCs games!
Yoga after work which will cheer me up, I'm not very flexible so always have a laugh.
Happy Birthday SO.
Hope you all have a happy Wednesday, take care. XX0 -
Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off nmlc
The rain didn't seem to stop all day yesterday, hope today is better. Not sure what we are doing, thought I would treat us and have lunch out, no cooking or washing up sounds good.
Hope you all have a good dayIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Good morning, it's bright and sunny here, I'm hoping it continues and gets my washing dry, just put a load in.
Thanks NMLC, for starting off.
We had youngest Dgs yesterday, as we often do on Tuesdays, so I don't aim to get loads done. Doesn't matter though, there's always time to catch up.
I want to go to a local-ish shopping centre today, to Ne*t, I've seen some shoes that I want to try on. The shoes I wore for the wedding a fortnight ago nearly killed me!! We have another family wedding in July, but it's DH's family, so I can wear the same outfit, but I need different shoes. I would love to buy another outfit , but it would be pure extravagance - what I wore for my great niece's wedding was brand new and looked nice, there's nothing wrong with it at all, I just like buying nice clothes.
Went to Tai Chi yesterday and caught up with things there, then our quiz last night, se we're back in the old routine. I'm still a fortnight behind on here though, must read back.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can.
Take care folks xx0 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. SILVER-OLDIE I hope you manage to have a lovely birthday with cakes and chocs aplenty, You deserve a nice treat.
We were forecast sun for today but that has changed to cloud - but at least no rain. Yesterday was lovely till mid afternoon when the heavens opened! I was lucky I had just got home!
Today it's bus trip day. Just two of us today. Undecided where to go to, will have a committee meeting when we meet in town! Most likely Skipton or Ilkley and of course lunch will be on the agenda as always.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need or want of them. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone
Happy birthday silver-oldie :bdaycake: . Enjoy your lunch out.
Not sure what I'm doing today. So far I've got as far as making a cup of tea.
I really need to do a bit of dusting and vacuuming while the weather isn't so good because I know I won't want to do it as soon as it is sunny and warm outside again.
AOD I hope that you start to feel a bit better soon, it is a difficult time for you.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all
Nice bright day here and set in for the day I think. Off to work for me and busy Wednesday with noisy chap today.
Fish for dinner tonight with either rice or new potatoes with peas, and I need to put a wash on tonight.
Rubbish, garden waste and recycling out today, good job as the garden one is full to the top, OH had to jump on the top of it to compact it.
Silver Oldie Is it your Birthday today ?? If so hope you have a great day xx
Have good days all xx0 -

Good morning,
Yesterday was uneventful, which meant I got another NSD taking me to 3 so far.
No gym this morning. I actually managed to solve this mornings 3 maths sums first time and pretty quickly, so by the time I was done I still hadn't fully woken up. Aside from that, I'm feeling a bit sore for yesterday so I might go after work today or I might not go at all. L/O mac n cheese for dinner tonight.
nannywindow - a belated happy birthday!
SO - Happy birthday for today!0
