Hi... I spent 10 years paying £9.99 a month to know my experian credit score. I ended up having to cancel due to going into an IVA - and a year later they began to offer the same service i was paying for but now its totally free forever! I feel really ripped off - do you think I have a case for claiming some money back?? (i know its probably a long shot but I just feel like why the hell was i paying for something that they now actively offer for free??)
TIA

Sorry no. You chose to pay to see your worthless score.0

On what grounds?
Your score is irrelevant as no one sees, cares about or uses it.0 -
Hi... I spent 10 years paying £9.99 a month to know my experian credit score. Why? It is meaningless.

What benefit did you think that this 'service' was offering you?
If you wish to sign up to a subscription service that offers you a random number to collect each month that is up to you. You paid you money and Experian have provided you with a randomly generated number each month. There is no cause for complaint against them.0 -
I think it actually included some kind of fraud protection or something like that as well as the credit report and number.0

What a waste of £1,200! :doh:I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0

Agreed. Waste.0 -
Wasn't there something a while ago about reclaiming for an experian product? I think along the lines of a part of what you paid was for an insurance product that was worthless or something along those lines.
I know as I claimed some money back from them. I think it was only about £90 but I wasn't paying a subscription for anywhere near as long as 10 years.0 -
Infact,
Here is the link. It may or may not apply.

What do you think that your grounds are for asking for money back?0

no chance!
they woulda said what they provided you with - aka an email once month or a log in to that fee paying part of the site to read and peruse as you wished.
they've done that, you paid for it.
both sides have kept to their side of the deal.
oh and the fraud prevention part, pah! if something did go wrong with fraud, and providing your not an accomplice to it, theres ombudsmen and governors of the financial sector that have your back.0
