I apologise if I have not made myself clear. I have Kaspersky Internet Security running. I have not disabled or turned off KIS.
What I have done is disable the Kaspersky Lab Power events provider function, not being sure what its purpose is.
What I am now trying to do is address my question to Kaspersky's forum service. However, you will see from looking at this they have archived the forum they used to offer....

I am presently tryng to negotiate my way round their new system of answering questions and will let you know when I get some kind of resolution.
In the meantime, can somebody please advise me what is the purpose of Kaspersky Lab Power events provider. I'm finding a lack of clarity when I Google for answers.
Thank you.0 -

Thank you JJ.
I can't say I'm too impressed with how Kaspersky now deal with questions from users.
Before, with the forum that has now been archived, it was possible to read other users in response to my initial questions.
Now, unless I'm missing something, that doesn't seem possible.0 -

You honestly don't need anti-virus protection and the default one on Microsoft does fine, just don't be an idiot online0
