So does not appear you are denying it?

Sounds like they have already cancelled but giving you 7 days notice to find yourself cover. You have made yourself virtually uninsurable.

There you go, now we are at the crux of the matter - 100 mph in a car with black box fitted.

You are going to have to suck it up take this one on the chin OP. I appreciate that it is a tough lesson to learn. If you can get another insurance policy the cost will be prohibitive so you may be looking at a few years without driving.

If you need to have a policy with a black box I will assume that you are a fairly young and/or inexperienced driver. Whatever made you think that you had the necessary skill and experience to drive at 100 mph is a difficult to understand - as is whatever possessed you to do that knowing that your driving was being monitored by your insurer. You have escaped the consequences of the former as you were not caught by the Police and managed not to kill anyone with your recklessness. However, the consequences of the latter was not only predictable but a certainty.
  • After taking out insurance & paying in full, are the Insurance company allowed to keep all of your money for the full year. Policy cancelled by them after less than 2 months, refusing to refund money paid for the full 12 months. Is there a template letter I can use to write requesting refund.

Would be better for you to start your own thread as we would need to know more info to advise

Check your policy wording and see what it says happens over cancellations

If they have broken any condition regards refunds after a cancellation then a simple letter headed " complaint," stating this had happened and requesting your refund is all you need

Then if you are not happy with the reply or they ignore you for 8 weeks you can escalate to the FOS for their adjudication at no cost to you

The only explanation I can think of which answers both of these questions was that the OP was drunk at the time.
In which case, extremely fortunate that the only outcome was that their insurance was cancelled. One wonders why this criminal offence has not been reported to the CPS by either of the bodies who hold the evidence.
