Is the ombudsman service independent assessor really independent?

IMHO this thread has run its course and should be deleted, to bring peace of mind to everyone concerned...0

I can imagine the groan that goes up round the office when yet another one of your whines comes through.
Does being so precious actually achieve anything of use for you? Would your time not be better used getting ahead at work, for example?0 -
It really does take someone special to mess-up then 'groan' at the person pointing out the mistake.
Simple fact is FOS can't even do a simple thing right .0 -
If you’d not been a serial complainer your cases would not all be assigned to the new joiners.
I’ll ask again, would you not be better off putting your efforts into sorting your own life out?0 -
Bare fact is Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and independent assessor (IA) needs to see the person behind each complaint, and not treat every complaint as a '[groan] another complaint!. What does he/she want?'
If FOS and IA stick to the basics and do these right, the rest will follow. Of course, if the IA's role is purely to act as a firewall to protect the FOS, then she may not want to do the basics...she may not be interested to see how many times this has happened before. Ignorance is bliss.0 -

Indeed it is. Now if only I'd never become aware of this thread...0 -
You still don't get it, do you. The fact that you believe that you didn't get what you wanted (whatever that might actually be) does not mean that IA is not independent, or that the IA is in cahoots with the FOS against the consumer.OceanSound wrote: »Bare fact is Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and independent assessor (IA) needs to see the person behind each complaint, and not treat every complaint as a '[groan] another complaint!. You also haven't taken in all the responses you got, and specifically you haven't taken in the one about 'learning points'. It would be good if you could work on that.0 -
That's clearly not a fact but an opinion! Not necessarily an invalid one but you'll find it easier to make progress in life if you can tell the difference.OceanSound wrote: »Bare fact is Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and independent assessor (IA) needs to see the person behind each complaint, and not treat every complaint as a '[groan] another complaint!. As colsten points out, you're choosing to ignore the evidence to the contrary - if you're unable to sustain a logical and coherent debate on here then this doesn't bode well for your ability to complain effectively to other bodies....OceanSound wrote: »If FOS and IA stick to the basics and do these right, the rest will follow. This is your opinion. You are in a minority i'm afraid, and i don't for one minute believe your story about receiving post. It's impossible to never receive any post at all. Stop contacting the FOS and your life will be much less stressful.0
