Signed up to a gym yesterday in error and want to cancel

Hi guys
I signed up to Bannatyne’s health club gym last night through their website. I wanted to sign up to the rolling membership and seem to have signed up to the 12 month contract in error. I havent been to the gym yet or managed to get in contact with them.
My reason for wanting to cancel is that I’d rather pay more each month and be able to cancel whenever i need to rather than be stuck for a year.
Is there some sort of cooling period or other right that allows me to cancel if I’ve only just registered?

ETA: as you joined online, I think you can cancel within 14 days as long as you haven't actually used the service yet.0 -
You need to check back to the T&Cs of what you actually signed up for and see what they say about cancellation.
If that presents you with a problem, contact them and explain what's happened and tell them you want to pay more per month for the 12 month contract.
If you're successful, make sure you understand how to terminate the 12 month contract and don't get lumbered with another 12 months through inaction.

I called in and apparently their membership advisors called in sick today. A friend of mine previously had gym membership issues so i wanted to get more info here0

And most companies (not all admittedly) will be perfectly fine to talk to and it can sorted there and then. The ones that don't, well they can come on here and post their journey so far and get help. Without knowing the companies response there's frequently a limited amount of help they can get.
