Tyre pressure problem
Need some advice as I am not mechanically minded at all.
I have a 14 plate Ford Focus Zetec, ecoboost if that matters. I have had an issue where I lose a lot of pressure in my tyres. Its been back in at ford and they havent been able to diagnose it. I noticed two tires were near the legal limit so I decided to go in for a full set of new tyres and valves thinking surely that would be it but no, I am still getting the check tyre pressure warning on the dash and when I check the pressue its reading anything between 19-22 when 4 days previously they were on 30.psi. I am literally reinflating the tyres every 4-6 days. I must add its not all four tyres. Mainly the front n/s and rear o/s.
Any help as to what maybe causing this would be greatly appreciated

Probably an issue with the alloys. They may have become porous, or the tyre beads aren't seated correctly due to corrosion.
Get an alloy wheel refurbishment company to make an assessment.0 -
Just take it to a decent, independent tyre fitter. They should check the tyres, valves and wheels before advising.
I recently had an issue with my dad's car that I borrowed, it was going completely flat overnight but only did this whenever I checked the tyre pressure the day before. Took it in to my local, half an hour later they diagnosed it was a faulty valve and fitted a new one. Didn't even charge me.0 -
Would this have been something obvious for the tire fitters to see. Wondering why they didn’t point it out to me especially as I mentioned the issue prior to the new tyres going on0

My mom's Fiesta had a similar issue recently, after she'd had to drive on a flat to get the car somewhere safe to stop. New tyre on but pressure still dropping. My tyre-fitting garage said it would either be the alloy or the tyre pressure sensor - luckily for us it was the cheaper (£60 all in) sensor.
When the tyre was replaced at the road side he didn't spot it (and he was a tyre fitter, not breakdown), and Kwik Fit didn't either - in our defense that was 3.45 on a Sunday afternoon and everywhere else was shut.0 -
The tyre gutters replaced all four tyres not ford. I had had the car about 3 weeks at the beginning and that’s when I took it to ford. They were next to useless0
