Split ISA with Nationwide transfer

Hi,

I currently have a current account with Halifax and a Help to Buy ISA with them. I was recently thinking to transfer my current account to Nationwide. WIll this cause any problems with the Help to Buy ISA at Halifax without a current account?

Also, shortly afterwards I'd like to transfer the Help to Buy ISA to Nationwide, but into a split ISA with a cash ISA in the same wrapper. Is this possible? i.e. can I transfer my Help to Buy with Halifax fully into a Nationwide Help to Buy split ISA?

Thanks

    Open a second account with a separate and unconnected institution if you only have one current account. You need more than one given how past computer borkages have hit the consumer. So keep the existing Halifax and open a new Nationwide.

    I asked Nationwide yesterday and had a response from them saying that I will not be able to open/contribute Help 2 Save ISA since I have already started to contribute elsewhere (mine with Halifax too).

    Also I did asked about split cash ISA and they said again will not be able to open due to HMRC rules of 1 ISA thing.

    So not sure how it's possible! Below was the response:

    If you have paid into another ISA with another provider in this tax year 2019/2020, under HMRC guideline you will be unable to open an ISA with Nationwide.

    If you have not paid into another ISA with another provider in this tax year 2019/2020 then you could open the ISA via the Nationwide website, please find the following link;
