Pizzeria last night was amazing 🤩 fantastic food, lovely ambience and reasonably priced. A welcome treat after the last couple of weeks.
Mothers Day has been a good one for us, visited Mum and MIL this morning. DS1 was very grown up and made me toast and juice for breakfast ☺️ the boys have each made me a card and bought me some chocolates and flowers from their pocket money, DH also cooked us a lovely roast chicken dinner so I feel very loved and spoiled.
Laundry mountain is getting there - the last load is currently on the washing line, everything else is put away apart from a few shirts that need ironed.
Need to prep work/school bags and make myself a packed lunch for tomorrow as I'm on the road for work again so leaving around 7am. It'll be a long day but I'm looking forward to seeing my colleagues as I feel a bit isolated/disconnected with not being in work much last week so it'll be good to be among people I think.

Tue and Wed were very challenging days at work but lots achieved. I was off on Thu for Aunt's funeral which went as well as these things can. Yesterday was very deliberately spent doing nothing apart from the school runs. The rest of the day I honestly spent under a duvet watching trashy TV and napping. It did me the world of good to recharge and I'm raring to go today!
Our $antander savings account has increased it's interest rate to 3.20% so have just moved the additional mortgage money there as it's a better rate than the new account we set up.
My payday on Tuesday, there's been no adjustment for the days I took off sick so it looks like it was after the cut off date and will affect next month's pay instead.
Pre additional mortgage borrowing we had reduced our 'what we owe the world figure' by £835 in March. More accurately we've increased the figure by £24,165- onwards and downwards!
Plastering will finally be completed today so need to get in touch with our joiner to arrange a date to fit the new skirting boards, etc.
Also need to take the boys to get new school shoes and wellies as their current ones are past their best, will do that after their swimming lesson today and take them for the bargain £1 lunch in A$da while we're out. No other plans this weekend other than boring chores, feel a bit 'peopled out' after the last few days so will be happy to hide away at home. We all break up from school/work on Thursday so we'll have a busy week ahead but will then be away the following Mon-Fri which we're all looking forward to3 -
Successful shopping trip yesterday, managed to get the new shoes and wellies for the boys in A$da using a £50 voucher generated from their rewards app (I tend to build a good balance here as I use the app for both my own and Mum's shopping
)
Also remembered to return a top I bought last week that doesn't fit well so got a £15 refund for that.
As DH was with me, we decided to take advantage of his blue light card and, as well as the weekly shop, bought the kids some coverless duvets, which will be easier to wash in case of sickness, much needed in our house! DH got some new jeans and t shirts. Total spend was £161.12then the blue light discount knocked £17.68 off the bill, I've been good and have just sent this amount to the CC along with 66p cashback from the Cha$e account.
Plastering is now finished so today's plan is to give upstairs and the stairs/halway a good clean as well as tackling the ironing that has been building up the last few days. Already have another load of washing on the line as it's quite dry and warm here today. We need to help the boys make a Easter bonnet as there's a competition at school today, we may also squeeze in a walk to the playground later.3 -
Easter bonnets are made - 2 spring scarecrows will be heading to school on Thursday
My pay day today so a new budget month has started, no payments due out until the 1st onwards. DH's payday is on Friday so the full money shuffle can start then, my wages are in the savings account for now.
Money wins: Got a refund on an item paid from last month's pay cycle so sent that (£19.68) and a Pro!ific cashout of £5.89 to the CC.
Unfortunately DH's car had to go in the garage yesterday for a repair, bill came to £130.
2 days to go until we break up from school and work, the clocks changing has knocked us all out of sync, especially the boys, so we're ready for some lazier mornings.
Hope everyone else is okay x

Got £28.20 of work expenses from last month paid today, sent across to the CC ✅
Cautiously optimistic that the CC will dip below the £6k mark before next payday 🤞
Got a quietish last day at work today and then a lovely 10 days off, so ready for a break and a change of scenery!3 -
And that's the out of office on, yippee!!!
The boys have been to an after hours disco at school so just been to pick them up and popped in Lidl for a couple of bits to see us through the next couple of days, had a £2 voucher to use on the rewards app so that's another £2 sent to the CC3 -
Massive win this morning. Mortgage payment went out but at the previous amount, checked the new mortgage paperwork and the first payment for this is due next month - so have sent the £184 to the credit card seeing as it was already budgeted for ✅3
