Weird Direct Debit

Hello! Hoping someone can help. I have a weird direct debit with the reference "AZP HE COVER" and I have no idea what it is. I've spoken to the bank and they've told me it was set up on a day I wasn't in the country - however I may have done it! Google isn't any help so I'm hoping someone may be able to shed some light on what company this might be?
Thanks
Thanks

Have you tried checking your email for the amount being taken or emails around that time for a policy you might have taken out e.g. insurance or something or a purchase you made?
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Where you were on the day it was set up isn't really an indicator of anything - it could be set up several days (even weeks) after you've given the authorisation - especially if they're dealing with a paper form.
Your bank may have more details of the originator and/or the DD mandate that might help track down who/what the company are.0 -

Thanks all for your help! Yep quite a few phone calls and all of a sudden they knew who I was and what it was about! The surprise was because it was a one-off payment not a direct debit, and yet they set one up!
All sorted thank you all again0 -
I have discovered the same direct debit taken from my account for £43-68. I phoned up the company and they said it was to do with my Lloyd’s Home insurance policy. That policy was for September2018-2019. I told them that I had cancelled the policy for 2019 -20 and they had taken the money from my bank without my permission.
To get a refund I was asked to give my bank details , which I refused to, on the grounds that they had this information. I was told that if I didn’t confirm the details it would take even longer for the money to be refunded.
This is absolute fraud .0 -

If you had cancelled prior to them taking the money. Call your bank for a DD indemnity and get the refund straight away.Life in the slow lane1 -

When I renewed my home insurance cover recently, I found that an increasing number of Companies are throwing in " free" Home Emergency cover for year 1 on new policies - but in the small print, they say that £x pm will be taken for this cover after the first year unless cancelled. It appears cancelling the actual home insurance policy doesn't automatically cancel the Emergency cover after 12 months.
Sharp practice in my view - but not fraud.2 -

They offered you a refund, how is that fraud? Given, as you say, they as ready have your bank details, why did you refuse to confirm them? Being recalcitrant isn't always in your best interest.1 -
Thank you for everyone posting about the above. You saved me a lot of time trying to find out about it. And now I know that should I cancel my insurance next year I will have to make sure this one is cancelled as well. Funny thing is that my bank is Halifax and so is the home insurance. Yet they still have no idea how the direct debit came about -through Lloyd's -that's also their bank... You have to be so careful nowadays....
Thanks again!1
