CEL threatening with court, help!

Hello everyone
I’ve recently had a letter from civil enforcement LTD saying if I don’t pay up the £180+fees that I will be taken to court, and that I must pay this sum in less than 30 days or they’ll have no other option but to go to a small claims court.
After ignoring letters now for near on 12 months (some from CEL, debt collectors and solicitors) I’m just wondering what is the best action I should take, wait to see if they do take me to court or write back to them at this stage?
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Everyone is asked to read up on this in the newbies faq thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Go there now to get an understanding of the game you are now caught up in

#2 in that thread advises on Court claims from receipt of the lbcca (which you look to now have) to the hearing

To be clear .... does the letter say "letter before claim" or similar
Does it give proof of their claim and charges and give you 30 days to respond (not pay) ??

You do not owe £180, max £100, the rest CEL have added on as a fake charge

How do I find the newbie faq thread? New to this forum so I’m a bit clueless 😂

The letter doesn’t actually say the letter before claim or anything similar it just says I have 30 days to pay otherwise they’ll have no other option but to take me to court.

Go back to the screen where you found the New Thread button earlier.

In the thread index list you are looking for a thread entitled:

**NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? OLD OR NEW? **READ THESE FAQS FIRST!** Thankyou!

It is one of the first four threads in that list.

Does it enclose any forms to return (don't if it does) or offer a link to download these?

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

    @ OP

If you have inadvertently used your real name as your forum name then you need to get MSE to change it to something anonymous

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use posts in your thread against you

Now you have a new forum name you need to try and pm those posters who have quoted your previous name and ask them to edit their posts.
