Crafty Vodafone.....Check your Bills
Just to for warn Vodafone customers to check your new bills after taking out new contract or upgrading regarding the Secure Net. I renewed 2 contracts recently as in 18/05/19 and part of the plan included a Free 3 month Trial of Secure Net. On both recent bills the secure net is due to end on 24/06/19 and will be charged £1 thereafter. I have also noticed the same thing on the other line I have However, they have charged £1 for secure net and taken only £0.97p promotional offer off?????. This promoted me to check my previous contracts and behold, I was actually only given 1 month free trial of secure net and was charged £1 the following month. I have since had this back as it was sold wrongly in the first place but not the point. Its only a few pound & pence but if this is done to every customer who cant be bothered to query such a small amount, it all adds up to extra profits. CHECK YOU BILLS AND CONTRACT START DATE.

Checking bills is something a lot of people don't bother doing - and should. Especially with Vodafone. It's common on here for people to only realise they've been paying years for a contract they thought had ended and then complaining when it was there own negligence - firstly in failing to understand how contracts work, secondly for not checking their bank account regularly.
What you have pointed out is the tip of the iceberg and a drop in the ocean compared to many. At least you're on the ball, but the advice and warning applies to a lot more than just Vodafone contracts.0 -
Totally agree I've become analytical with all contracts, by the time I have read the terms & conditions the offer is over. And I have to start reading another. I pointed out Vodafones calendar mistake on 3 months and they are adamant its finishing on 24th June??? Ive hit them with a hard email that I can legally cancel my contract as I have been mislead as they now include the 3 month FREE trial of Secure Net as part of a package try getting a package without it being included. Also I am within my 30 days cooling off period0

Not sure about that; I took a Vodafone contract in early October via a dealer and the free 3 month Secure Net wasn't mentioned anywhere (I print everything off at the point of sale so I know exactly what I - and, more importantly THEY - are signing up to; I always assume I will have to hold them to account afterwards so will need written proof).
I only discovered it because I checked my first bill and it mentioned the 3 month force-fed trial - which I duly cancelled before the three months were add. Vodafone then tried to explain why it was vital to have it but I cut them short immediatley and insisted on cancelling.0 -
Yep they added the Secure net to several of mine and several times.
Over 5 months into a new contract they said it was a 3 months free trial. So why have you only just started to charge??
Then it clicked I made a post on here and told then to cancel that right away I dont want the free trial either.
They started charging on another contract also, got £25 knocked off my bill with that complaint.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I have just had my new bill and behold they have charged me £1 for secure net. I only took out the contract on 22nd May and they gave me a 3 month free trial. Even after the complaint via resolver which they informed me that an advisor would be in touch within 2 days. (28th May) I have had to escalate my complaint again via resolver so fingers crossed I hear something.0

Don't leave them too long or you may not be unable to uncross them.0

But why should they have to? Maybe companies shouldn’t be allowed to hide things in the small print!0 -

They shouldn't; but better to live in the real world than cloud cuckoo land in my experience.0
