How can i request a copy of an Old Tenancy Agreement

I moved out of a property last year and cannot find my Tenancy Agreement but I now need to prove who else was on my Joint Liability Tenancy. I have contacted the landlady as it was a private rental (we did not go through an estate agent or managing agents), but she is refusing to give me a copy, as she says she can't be bothered. Is there a way I can legally request this so she has to provide me with a copy please? If so, who do I contact?
Any help would be really appreciated!

She is considered a data controller. You should issue a subject access request and remind her that the ICO can fine her £250,000 if she doesn't comply....
That said, we may be able to help with the issue itself; why do you need to prove this and to whom?0 -
Hi, thank you for you're reply. How do I issue a subject access request to her. Does this just need to be a request in writing to her? and then if i don't hear i refer it to ICO.
I need to prove this to the council. When i was living at the property, 3 tenants moved in with me and i wasn't aware that none of them had registered for the council tax account, so i was the only one on it. I have now been giving a massive outstanding bill and apparently it went to court (without my knowledge). The council have confirmed that if i can prove who else what at the property for that period i wouldn't be liable.0 -

Ok so more questions just arose. Did you all sign the same tenancy agreement, or was it individual agreements.
If the former then you are each liable for the full amount of council tax. There is no need to all register. The council may choose to only pursue you for your share, but to be honest that seems unlikely.
If it's the latter, your landlord is responsible for the council tax.
The council are incorrect.0 -
If you registered for CT why weren't you paying the bill at the time you were in occupation (and getting their share back from the other tenants)? Why has a massive bill been raised at a later date? And if you were the only one registered did you also claim for single occupancy?0

We all signed the same joint liability tenancy agreement. The council are saying that until they see evidence i.e the tenancy agreement that they cannot pursue the other tenants. I just don't know how to get a copy of it as she has refused to send it to me0

Comms69 - thanks for the advice re: GDPR etc0

Ok, that's not what you said initially. Have the council said, in writing, that you will only be pursued for 1/4 of the liability.
Because in law you are liable for 100% of the bill.0 -
agrinnall: I was paying a quarter of the bill, as i set up my direct debit to cover this. I thought the others had as well, as we had all discussed this when we signed the contract. I didn't receive any letters from the council about outstanding payments, money owed, warnings or court action or i could have taken this up with my housemates. I have also asked the council about why i didn't receive any letters and I have requested copies they said they would let me know if this request was granted.0

Comms69:
The council said that if I can show that their were 3 others at the property and that a Joint liability tenancy was signed then they can pursue the others. I understand that they can pursue just one person but i at least want to give myself a chance that they could pursue the others too, rather than just giving up and accepting it0
