Car Road Tax query

I sold my car a couple of weeks ago. The tax had expired and so I taxed it in order to allow prospective buyers to test drive it. Within days I’d sold it locally and then reclaimed the road tax. I regretted selling the car but after speaking to the buyer he kindly allowed me to take it back.
My question is: Having prematurely reclaimed the road tax, knowing I shall only receive 11 months of the 12 month premium I paid, does that mean I can no longer drive the car, even during the one month’s premium I lost?
I suspect the answer is that I can’t but just thought I’d have it confirmed. I would have phoned the DVLA but at £1.50 per minute call charge, I figured I’ve handed over enough.
Thanks everyone.

You have to pay the VED again - either 6 or 12 months.0

There is no £1.50 call charge calling DVLA directly, i suspect you are using service that connects you to DVLA

Thanks for the responses everyone. The £1.50 DVLA charge came from a directory site which topped my Google search list so, as our American friends say, my bad! The DVLA informed me that, for some vague reason, my VED was still current despite the brief car sale so, no lost revenue.
Must say though, that the requirement for the seller and buyer to cancel/purchase their own VED, with the inevitable ‘lost’ revenue for both parties via the part monthly short fall appears to be a cynical masterstroke for the bean counters at the DVLA.
Thanks again.0
