Missing feature on new car - offer of compensation

Hi all,
I bought a brand new Peugeot Rifter earlier this year.
On delivery, I noticed it didn't have a feature which is clearly said it would in the brochure. This was something called 'Magic Flat', where you can press a button from the boot space and all back seats will lie flat.
I checked over the documentation and it did say it should be there. I checked with the dealer, and after doing some investigating they found the brochure was incorrect and it isn't available on my version of the vehicle.
It cannot be retrofitted either. I have been offered £500 compensation for the lack of the feature. Vehicle cost was around £21,500.
I would have used the feature every so often, it would be handy but certainly not necessary.
Do you think £500 is a decent amount to make up for what is essentially an additional button to make the seats go flat?!
Thanks for any of your advice!

Yes, take the money and run away !0

It depends how important it is to you - if you use it a lot or think you'll have difficulty doing it manually then you may be better seeing if the dealer will provide you with another car with the feature. Personally, I'd just take the money.0

Tell them you are thinking of rejecting the car and £1000 is more appropriate, see what they say.0

Looks like only the GT Line comes with magic seats.....which sales literature have you got?
There will be a disclaimer at the end saying all information can be changed without notice or any cockups we make are tough blah blah blah0 -
Yep I've got the GT Line, they've only just updated it to the correct information. The specification letter they sent when I bought it did include the feature though.
Thanks for your help guys. I think I may push for a little more, just to see!0 -

Nice choice. Drove the van version and it was a great driving position for me.
Just couldn't justify the splurge on the Rifter.
Will none of the Rifters have this as standard?
Thinking resale time if its a feature that will hurt you by being missing.0 -

That disclaimer covers prospective purchases only. If its an existing purchase then they can't alter the specs - at least not without being in breach of contract.
If there are other vehicles that offer it as an optional extra (even with other manufacturers) then perhaps see what the difference in price is as a starting point.
I'd maybe start around £1200 and expect to barter down to £950-1000.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I bet the brochure also says it's just a guide, and actual specs may vary due to production changes.0

Take the £500, buy a broom handle to keep in the boot and use that to push the seats flat.
Spend the remaining £495 on whatever you want0 -
