i wouldn't class as out in the sticks, i'm near a small town, not massive but small town and lots of houses around. I don't have overhead power cables to my property. i think approx 200ish properties where i am on my development i bought on, other older properties around up the road etc. Can get Fibre broadband so gives some idea as not totally remote, although the max speed i can currently get is around 33mb even though daft BT given me a package of upto 76mb for the same price as the lower one lol i just went along, wasn't costing me any more so all good to me. I think they were desperate to sell tbh.

How would i tell if i'm on a transient network with a Autorecloser ? Is there somewhere I can check this?
Thanks

No idea but, ours has done it occasionally for the past 14 years!
Frequency has got less and less as the infrastructure has improved. ( I live on the outskirts of a large UK city )
Only clock I have to reset is the oven, it won't work until the clock is reset - no big deal but missus hasn't a clue how to do it . . makes me feel wanted . . :j0 -
Thanks, i'll check with Neighbours when i can and go from there, fingers crossed i notice it next time as i say, its only the cooker & microwave that i can tell by as rest of clocks auto reset.

If you live out in the sticks with overheads lines then there will be auto-reclosers. Their purpose is to switch off the power when perhaps a bird has flown into the line or a branch come off a tree - after a few seconds all will have settled down and the power is switched back on again.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Any greater frequency in winter or windier weather which would match the situation described above?0

I have short lived power outages at least once, sometimes 4 times a month, the joys of rural living
If it weren't for the cooker clock, id not know
Oh I do get BB, only no fibre, no mains gas and no mains sewers0 -
Probably a good idea to keep sensitive appliances like computers, TV, stereo unplugged when not in use as there’s often voltage spikes with these sort of outages and reconnections.0

Hi,
Not noticed any change in weather/wind etc. I have the plug switched off to TV, computers, stereo, kettle, toaster. Only items left on are couple of bedroom clocks and fridge/freezer, microwave and oven.

op has a smart meter. Case closed
Being more serious, the smart meter should log and report power outages so its worth you noting dates (when you realised the oven clock has reset) and then the records can be checked within a day or 20
