Are you referring to the current T&C's, or the ones the OP has for his card taken out around 12 months ago? There have been several changes to the M&S BT deals over the last 12 months...3.9%/4.9%/5.9% (all for life), and now 7.9% for 2 years.the T & C clearly state bt are to be done within 6 months of opening the account ,the computers being down wont alter this.
I too took out the OP's product 12 months ago, but used it for it's 0% on purchases, and can't remember if the old BT conditions were the same as the current ones, ie no standard rate for BT's done outside the 6 month intro period.0 -

BT's within the first 6 months qualify for any special offer M&S have.
If its more than 6 months, that doesn't mean BT's are not possible - indeed the M&S summary box shows they are but at their 'normal' interest rate..

...which is the point I made in post #3, but which others seem to disagree with.BT's within the first 6 months qualify for any special offer M&S have.

As far as I am aware the 7.9% balance transfer is only for new customers.
For everyone else you can't actually do a balance transfer anymore with M&S.
So it has nothing to do with the computers being down.0 -

My post was in response to OP request forany ideas
It depends when one opened the account and my T&C are not these M&S summary box .
This is all rather pointless as I very much doubt OP would be interested in BT @ 18.9%"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Thanks for your replys i have had the card a couple of years now ,i made a big mistake paying M & S card off instead of my Lloyds card ,i forgot it was on a low rate my lloyds is 0% but is running out soon i wish i keeped the balance on my M & s .
I have just rang M & S they said there is no offers at present but they are just in the process of sending out new offers so hopefully i will get one soon.0 -
I suggest you cancel and apply for another card possibly from Abbey, 0% for 12 months 2.5% balance transfer fee, see http://www.abbey-landingpages.co.uk/generic/version1.html
New customers nearly always get the best deals. AFAIK all previous M&S deals were restricted to new customers. only."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

M&S are not pushing Balance transfers as they are non profitable so they were not pushing to do them or sell them.
They take on other peoples debt that way lol...0
