Auxillis Hire Car Charges - Non Fault

My car was recently driven into by another driver whilst parked. When my insurer, Admiral, established that I had not been at fault, it referred me to auxilis for repairs and replacement car. Which seemed odd the the time. When auxilis proposed a like for like replacement car for nearly £120 per day (which it would seek to recover from the other driver's insurer), the penny dropped. I contacted the other driver's insurer, which tripped over itself to provide a rental car from Enterprise for £20 per day. I have since learnt that Admiral does not refer its clients to auxilis when they are at fault in an accident, only when they are not at fault. Which tells you all you need to know about its view of auxilis's pricing. I am sure that auxilis provides an excellent service to its clients, and I am sure it is tempting to take the easy route auxilis offers. But I urge drivers not at fault to contact the other's driver's insurer asap in order to give them the chance to provide replacement car and repairs at lower rates. In the end, this will benefit us all by reducing losses and therefore the insurance premia we pay.

I wouldn't mind betting that Auxilis gives commission...0

At least if anything similar happens to me I can confirm that the hire car is the equivalent spec/model ... in fact it could almost be my own car if it wasn't for it being a different colour!
Just to update - everything went fine for me ... no dramas, no hassle, no charges to me at all.0 -

Good to hear. I mentioned above that my experience with Auxillis was totally fine too. It seems they're not so bad after all. It goes without saying really .. READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS!!0 -

I never understood the logic of punting claims to other companies to Auxilis for a kickback, because presumably if everyone does it, it'll just cost everyone more. So Admiral may make £500 commission by passing a £3000 bill to Churchill, but then Churchill will get a £500 commission by passing a £3000 bill over to Admiral. If they both used cheaper hires they'd both be £2000+ better off.
It only really works for whoever owns Auxilis.

Although Admiral recommned Auxillis and I guess other companies do as well. You can still opt to have Admiral Claims Dept deal with your claim. I would certainly do this after my experience with Auxillis which I detailed on here in a post on 16/8/2019.
IF THIS POST HAS BEEN HELPFUL - PLEASE CLICK ON THANKS :j1 -
When an admiral customer hit me, Admiral put me on enterprise, not Auxillis. This was a few years ago, though.0
