Will I be charged for opening an SMS message?
I really don't use mobile phones very much and I can't find much information about SMS charges on the internet. It seems to be a bit of a mystery in fact. If I receive an SMS notification on my mobile phone, could I be charged for clicking to open the message?
I can't tell who an SMS message came from or what it's about until I open the message.

In this country you only get charged to make calls and send texts, you don't get charged to receive texts or calls.
If you have a notification on the phone then that means the message has already been delivered to your phone and what happens after that point only happens on the phone.0 -
Text messages sent to your phone from mobile shortcode numbers are chargeable if it is a premium rate message. The charge is made irrespective of whether you open the message or not, and indeed is still made even if you have an app that supposedly blocks the reception of such messages.0
